Bleach Finally Came Back After 10 Years.

It’s been over 10 years since Bleach last aired. One of the big three series (One Piece, Naruto, Bleach) went on hiatus after airing the final episode of the fullbring arc back on the day of March 27th, 2012. Many fans were wondering if there was any hope for the anime to return and if the final arc, also known as the “Thousand Year Blood War” arc, would be animated. In March 2020 Bleach fans rejoiced when the news came out that the anime would be returning in the near future. On October 10th, 2022 the first episode of the final arc of Bleach aired, and it broke the internet.

Studio Pierrot is animating the final arc of Bleach as they have animated all the previous arcs in the past so it makes sense for them to pick up where they left off. The final arc of Bleach is being animated in four cours. You can think of cours as split-up sections of the arc. We already have information that there will be 52 episodes animated covering the final arc of Bleach split up into four sections of 13 episodes each. The first cour finished airing in December of 2022 and we already have information that the second cour will start airing in the Summer of 2023. I believe that with the pace we’re going at, the Bleach anime will end by the end of 2024.

One of the positive things about Bleach returning after 10 years is that the animation and quality of art have gotten significantly better over the years. Watching the first 13 episodes of this final season was a treat to behold. There’s also news that the upcoming cours will have even better art & animation so that’s something for Bleach fans to look forward to. For anyone who hasn’t watched or read Bleach, I truly believe you should start it if you’re looking to venture into the realm of the big three or just want to start a long series. Bleach was one of the first anime I’ve ever watched & it’s definitely worth your time.
