Top 5 Hidden Gems In Anime

Every medium has a good amount of hidden gems that are underrated but freaking great.

Here are some of my favorite underrated hidden gems in anime:

1. 91 Days

91 Days is a 2016 anime series set in the Prohibition era of the United States. The story follows Avilio Bruno, a young man who returns to his hometown after hearing of the death of his father. Avilio soon learns that his father's death was part of a larger conspiracy, and he sets out to avenge his father by killing the men responsible.

2. Terror in Resonance

Terror in Resonance is a 2014 anime series that tells the story of two young men who call themselves "Sphinx." Sphinx begins a series of terrorist attacks in Tokyo, and the police are baffled by their motives. The only clue they have is a series of cryptic messages that Sphinx leaves behind.

3. Dororo

Dororo is a 2019 anime series that is a remake of the classic 1969 anime of the same name. The story follows Hyakkimaru, a young man who was born without any limbs or organs due to a deal his father made with demons. Hyakkimaru sets out on a journey to defeat the demons and reclaim his body.

4. Devilman Crybaby

Devilman Crybaby is a 2018 anime series that is a reboot of the classic 1972 anime of the same name. The story follows Akira Fudo, a young man who is possessed by a demon named Amon. Akira and Amon must learn to work together to defeat the other demons that are trying to take over the world.

5. Great Pretender

Great Pretender is a 2020 anime series that tells the story of Makoto Edamura, a young con artist who is arrested by the FBI. The FBI offers Makoto a deal: if he helps them catch other con artists, they will let him go free. Makoto agrees, and he soon finds himself working with a team of other con artists to take down some of the world's most notorious criminals.
